We gave back nearly half of the conventional lawn to a rich rhythm of some of the most colorful and textural native plants. Shown here in July, the garden is one for all seasons - successionally showcasing seedheads and grasses in the winter, a flush of bulbs in the spring and a continuous burst of blooms until late fall. From a quiet neighborhood full of typical suburban lawn and clipped shrubs gardens, the garden has transformed into a buzzing home for wildlife - including birds, bees, butterflies and even snakes. The design has even inspired the clients to become avid gardeners.
