Central Brooklyn Tree Walks

“Field Meridian’s Nature School is an arts-based urban ecology curriculum that generates tools for resilience.”

The collective of artists and designers holds nature-centric workshops based in Central Brooklyn.

Throughout 2024 and 2025, Michael has led walks through the Crown Heights neighborhood to identify the trees that provide shade, ecologies, and homes for species of all kinds. The walks focus on cultivating a practice of observation and curiosity. I teach tree identification and care, share stories of their cultural histories, and discus our shared future with them in a time of unprecedented global ecosystems change.
